ADSS Outdoor Fibre Cable
The ADSS Outdoor Fibre Cable employs a loose tube stranded structure. The optical fiber is housed in a loose tube made of high-modulus polyester material, with the tube filled with waterproof compound. The loose tube (along with filler rods) is helically stranded around a non-metallic central reinforcement core (FRP) to form a compact cable core. Gaps within the cable core are filled with water-blocking grease. The cable core is then coated with an extruded polyethylene (PE) inner sheath. Subsequently, two layers of aramid yarns are applied in bidirectional twists for reinforcement. Finally, the cable is sheathed with either a polyethylene (PE) jacket or an electrical corrosion-resistant (AT) jacket.

The actual status of overhead power lines is taken into full consideration when ADSS outdoor fibre cable is being designed. For overhead power lines under 110kV, PE outer sheath is applied. For power lines equal to or over 110kV, AT outer sheath is applied. The dedicate design of aramid quantity and stranding process can satisfy the demand on various spans.
