The Optitap 6-port MST Box incorporates Optitap hardened adapters and is fully compatible with Hardened SC connectors. Designed for rapid tower and FTTH deployments, these MSTs are fully IP68 rated to withstand the rigors of outdoor deployment in all environments. Each MST comes with an easy-deployment mount for wall or pole mounting.

 

This product enables fast and easy connection and termination of customer drop cables, increasing deployment velocity. Its reliability and flexibility make it the ideal choice for network access point terminals in FTTX, aerial fiber installations, and all fiber access network deployments in harsh environments.

 

It is also the ideal solution for 5G and LTE applications requiring fiber to antenna systems (FTTA). Externally mounted hardened adapters allow for future installation of drops without re-entering the closure. Whether used in spliced or pre-terminated applications, and particularly when paired with hardened pre-terminated outdoor cable cords, it significantly increases labor efficiency and reduces the overall installation time required to connect customers in FTTX networks.

Application:

 

In a typical FTTP network, the Optitap MST Box is installed between the Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH) and the subscribers as shown in Figure. Network feeder cables transport the optical signals from the signal source to the FDH. At the FDH, optical splitters are used to divide the optical signals for distribution to the subscribers. Distribution cables transport the optical signals to the ​​MSTs​​, which are located at points that allow service to be provided to several subscribers. Drop cables transport the optical signals from each MST to the individual subscribers.
